Bill Removing Ban on GA for Individuals with Drug Convictions PASSES BOTH HOUSES!!

The New Jersey Coalition to End Homelessness is extremely pleased to announce the passage of Bill S2806/A4913 through both the Senate and the Assembly. This huge step is the result of much hard work on the part of the Coalition and its partners. If signed into law by the governor, it will make a significant impact on reducing homelessness and poverty for many New Jersey residents who have paid their debt to society and will now have greater opportunity to get themselves back on their feet.

It is through your support that we have been able to help get this important work accomplished, so we thank you. We now ask for your help in the final step of the process, getting Governor Christie to sign the bill into law. He has 7 days to sign or veto it, or, should he do nothing in that time, it will automatically be pocket vetoed. We strongly encourage you to write letters and/or call the Governor’s office to express your support of the bill.
