Operation Chillout nominated for ‘New Jersey Heroes’ award
A 15-year-old non-profit that helps homeless veterans is trying to keep pace as the numbers haves increased with a new generation of veterans home from deployment in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Long Valley-based “Operation Chillout” continues to serve the homeless and the organization has been nominated to be named “New Jersey Hero.”
New Jersey Heroes was started in 2010 by First Lady Mary Pat Christie to showcase organizations that are affecting New Jersey communities. Potential heroes are nominated with voting on-line at newjerseyheroes.org.
