Backpacks

Please donate a backpack or duffel bag filled with warm clothing and survival gear for a homeless man, woman or child this winter.  Click here to support the 2021 Winter Backpack Drive.

 

Our annual Winter Backpack project makes deliveries to locations where homeless people gather, including food pantries; soup kitchens; temporary shelters and places where some sleep outdoors such as abandoned buildings, parks and alleyways. Operation Chillout distributes backpacks filled with warm clothing, including a zipped hooded sweatshirt, water-proof gloves, a knit cap, warm socks and thermals. They are delivered to homeless people free of charge. Please consider donating a Winter Gear Backpack.

BACKPACK DRIVE stops will include locations in 13 New Jersey Counties:

  • Warren County
  • Sussex County
  • Morris County
  • Essex County
  • Bergen County
  • Union County
  • Hunterdon County
  • Burlington County
  • Monmouth County
  • Camden County
  • Somerset County   – Somerville
  • Ocean County – Lakewood
  • Passaic County – Paterson

Two stops in Pennsylvania and a few stops in New York (as well as other locations that are not listed):

  • Easton, PA
  • Stroudsburg, PA
  • Some towns in Rockland County, New York
